How to Apply for Accommodations at Richland Community College
All steps of the process must be completed before accommodations are approved. Before applying for accommodations, you will need to apply to Richland and be issued a Student ID number.
APPLY TO RICHLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
New students can complete the Admission Information Form on the Richland website at www.richland.edu Links to an external site..
If you need to take Placement Exams, they are already untimed and in a quiet location. If you require additional accommodations for a Placement Exam (i.e., Test Reader or Writer), you will need to complete the steps to apply for accommodations including the determination meeting before taking your placement exam(s). If you are not required to take a Placement Exam or do not require additional accommodations, you can wait until after you register for classes with your Success Coach to apply for accommodations.
APPLY FOR ACCOMMODATIONS IN 3 EASY STEPS
STEP 1 - Apply for Accommodations online at my.richland.edu
- Click on or hover over My Student Info and select Accommodations
- Review consent information and update if needed; click on “Save Consent.”
- Select the term that you are applying for and click on “Go to the online Accommodation Application.”
- Complete the application and submit.
STEP 2 – Provide documentation of disability to the Academic Success Center via email to accom@richland.edu or via fax to 1.217.875.6961. Richland accepts submissions of IEP or 504 Transition plans (typically the senior year report). Keep a copy of your documentation for your records.
STEP 3 – Once the review of the application and documentation is complete, the Academic Success Center will contact you to schedule an appointment. Virtual appointments will be available during the campus closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this appointment, appropriate accommodations are determined in an interactive process utilizing the documentation provided. Students must renew their accommodations each semester.
