What is it?
Extending Shulman's concept of Pedagogical Content Knowledge Links to an external site., Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) demonstrates the overlap of pedagogical, technological, and content knowledge for effective teaching.

Elements
Content Knowledge (CK): Field-specific information to be taught to students in that field. Examples include theories, research, and best practices.
Pedagogical Knowledge (PK): Methods or practices regarding how students learn.
Technological Knowledge (TK): Application and adaptability of technology tools to serve an intended purpose.
Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK): "Knowledge of pedagogy that is applicable to the teaching of specific content" (Koehler & Mishra, 2009).
Technological Content Knowledge (TCK): "An understanding of the manner in which technology and content influence and constrain one another" (Koehler & Mishra, 2009).
Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK): Clarity on how various technological tools promote specific kinds of learning.
Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK): "TPACK is the basis of effective teaching with technology, requiring an understanding of the representation of concepts using technologies" (Koehler & Mishra, 2009).
