Writing & Measuring the Right Things with Multiple-Choice Questions
Multiple-choice assessments are a favorite among educators because they're easy to use, but they can also be an efficient and effective way to measure a wide range of learning outcomes, not just recall of course content. In this session, we'll discuss how to make sure our multiple-choice assessments are well-written, measure the right things, and don't trick or frustrate our students. We'll also utilize a couple of tools during the session that you may want to incorporate into your own teaching toolbox.
Session Date: Thursday, March 10th from 1-2 pm
Session Presenter: Jarry Brown

Two Faculty Approaches to Information Literacy Through Assignments
This session is a professional development opportunity for faculty and completes an assessment cycle of Information Literacy (SLO). Chris Merli, Chemistry Professor, and Brooke Oliver, M.Ed., CST Associate Professor and Program Director of Surgical Technology, will each explain how their different methods help students learn the fundamental concepts associated with Information Literacy while working on an assignment. Both methods involve a librarian but one uses an embedded approach while the other offers a customized presentation. Both instructors have more than a few years of experience with these techniques. Come and learn collaboratively! Date -- Thursday, January 27 from 1-2pm

Dropout Detective Updates/Training
If you teach online courses, then Dropout Detective is an amazing student success tool that is directly integrated into Canvas for your use! While we've had this tool for a number of years, it has been a while since we've had a training session on the current and more recent Dropout Detective tools and how to use them. On Thursday, January 20 from 1:00-1:45 PM, there will be an updates/training Zoom session on Dropout Detective led by a representative from the company. This session will provide an overview of the features and functionality, and allow for QA.
