What is Kanopy?

Kanopy is an Online Library Database of films, documentaries, TV series, and foreign films. Instructors can share these films in their Canvas courses. How to add a video from Kanopy to a Canvas course

1: Log into myRIchland

2: Click on the Employee tab at the top

3: Click on the Library link on the left

4. Scroll down the page to the “Online Databases: Articles, Videos, eBooks” section, click on the Kanopy link

5. You may be asked to log into CAS, if you have not already done so for logging into Canvas

7. Find the video you want and click on it (or you can search or browse the site if you don’t see it on the main screen)

8. Click on the “Share” button

9. Choose the “Embed” option

10. Copy the Embed link

11. Go to the Module in your Canvas course where you want to add the video, click the + sign to add

12. From the dropdown list choose “Page” and then “New Page”

13. Name the page then click the Add Item button

14 . Click on the page to open it

15. Click on the Edit button to open the page for editing

16. Choose the HTML Editor option at the bottom of the page

17. Paste the Embed link code from Kanopy into the editor box, click the Save button at the bottom
