Questions?
- When can I start using the new RCE? Right now! If you'd like to start using the new RCE you can enable it for any (or all) of your courses using the following directions.
- Directions: Go to a course and click on Settings --> Click on the "Feature Options" tab --> Click the slider for "RCE Enhancements" and "RCE Auto-Save."
- When will the new RCE be turned on for everyone? The new RCE will be turned on for everyone on Monday, January 4, 2021.
- What is the RCE Auto-Save? The new RCE has the ability to auto-save for up to a day. That means if you were working on Assignment directions and accidentally navigate away without saving or lose your internet connection, your work will potentially be saved for up to a day. For more information, check out this page - 💥 RCE Auto Save 💥.
- How can I link/embed YouTube videos with my own linked text and a video thumbnail using the new RCE? Copy and paste the URL from your YouTube video into your page in Canvas and hit "enter" so that the link is live. Then if you click the live link that you've just pasted in, an option that says "Link Options" should appear. If you click "Link Options," a box should appear that will allow you to change the text to whatever you'd like. Once you've typed in your new text, click "Done" and then save your page and you should see a small thumbnail of your YouTube video below the text that you've just typed, and the text will also include a live link to your video.
