Respondus is a program used to publish assessment questions into Canvas, as quizzes or as Question Banks. This program can also be used to copy questions from a Quiz into a Question Bank.
The Teaching and Learning Center regularly uses this program to add assessments into courses for instructors, but some instructors prefer to add their own assessments using Respondus.Should you read the information in this section?
The information in this section is ONLY for instructors who wish to use Respondus to add their own assessments into Canvas. If you are not creating new assessments or would like the Teaching and Learning Center to add your assessments to your course for you, please SKIP THIS SECTION.Additional requirements for this section:
The information included in this section of the Canvas Instructor Training assumes you are using the Respondus program on your office computer at Richland, or you already have Respondus loaded on your home computer.Do you need to download Respondus?
If you do not have the Respondus program loaded on your home computer, the latest copy of the Respondus Installer is available for download from: Respondus4 Campus-480-06 Links to an external site.Once you have Respondus installed....
Once Respondus is installed on your home computer, you will need to enter the licensing information, as follows: Institution Name: Richland Community College Local Support Contact: Online Learning Installation Password: This should be included in the installation file. However, if you have problems, please contact Online Learning and they will get the current password to you.Step 1
Correcting the Path in Respondus
There is sometimes a "glitch" in Respondus that changes the "Path" (where your Respondus documents are saved) to something other than what it should be. Not sure why it happens, but there is a fairly simple way to fix it.
To check and see what your Path is set to,and correct it if it's wrong, follow the directions in the document below.

How to Add or Edit Canvas Server Settings In Respondus
In order to use Respondus to publish assessments into your Canvas courses, you need to set up and configure a Canvas server in Respondus. This allows Canvas to add your assessments to a course.
