TLC On-Campus/Zoom Faculty PD Sessions
- Canvas Outcomes/CDOs Work Sessions - Tuesday, February 4th @3pm in Room W251 AND Wednesday, March 5th @1pm in Room W251 AND Wednesday, May 14th @1pm via Zoom

- Beginning Summer 2025, all Richland faculty will be required to leverage Canvas Outcomes to collect and analyze student data regarding Richland's Cross-Disciplinary Outcomes. This hands-on workshop will give faculty a head start on that process. During the session, TLC staff will lead faculty through the process of adding Richland CDOs to their Canvas courses and attaching those Outcomes to rubrics, quizzes, individual quiz questions, and/or question banks. Laptops will be available for use or bring your own.
- GenAI for Creation of Rubrics/Assessments - Monday, February 24th @2pm in Room W251
- In this in-person, hands-on faculty workshop, TLC staff will facilitate the process of leveraging Generative AI tools to create rubrics and assessments. Bring a device and some assignments/lessons/projects/standards for which you would like to develop rubrics and/or assessments.
- How to Use AI to Build OER/YouTube Quizzes - Wednesday, March 19th @1pm in Room W251

Join Professor Kristi Palmer for this in-person, hands-on session as she walks participants through the process of using ChatGPT to create quizzes from OER resources and from YouTube videos. Bring a device and some resources for which you would like to create quizzes.

Generative AI Faculty Roundtable Discussion - Wednesday, April 9th @ 1pm via Zoom

At this engaging virtual professional development session, faculty members will share best practices for integrating AI into instruction. Through a series of brief, focused micro-presentations, multiple Richland faculty members will highlight innovative strategies, practical applications, and ethical considerations for using AI in the classroom. Each presentation will be followed by a group discussion, providing an opportunity to explore AI’s role in enhancing teaching and learning.

Certificate programs to pursue include the newly revised Master Online Teacher Certificate Links to an external site., the Digital Accessibility for Educators Certificate Links to an external site., and more.

Once you have set up an account and registered for a course (please use membership code RL325), you will be emailed an invoice for the class. (Entering the code RL325 should reduce the cost of an 8-week course from $395 to $150.) Please forward that invoice to Jarry Brown (jarryb@richland.edu) and the TLC will pay for the course.
The spring term begins January 13th with new rounds of courses also starting February 10th, March 17th, and April 14th, 2025!

ILCCO Growing Online Learning Conference
ILCCO's annual Growing Online Learning Conference is scheduled for February 11th–13th, 2025. The theme for this year’s virtual conference is "Sustainability Through Excellence," and the keynote speaker is Jennifer Mathes, CEO of the Online Learning Consortium.

Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support (ICSPS)
The Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support (ICSPS) resides in the College of Education at Illinois State University. The mission of ICSPS is to support the success of every learner through the comprehensive application of research-based practices, encouraging professionals to educate equitably, and offering expertise in creating excellent learning environments through professional development events.

Through the Perkins grant, all Richland faculty & staff have unlimited access to a variety of live and on-demand webinar trainings provided through Innovative Educators. The content addresses a wide range of topics including teaching strategies, cheating & plagiarism, AI use, teaching diverse populations, and much more.
