Gradebook

The Grades tool gives you access to your course gradebook. Your gradebook includes all scores that you have recorded for your students across all assignments. If you set a grading policy in the Assignment Tool (percentage/weight based grades or drop lowest score), it will automatically be reflected in the grade book and even display a calculated final grade column. If you want your course to reflect accurate letter grades/percents make sure and set up your Course Grading Scheme from Module 5. **Assignments will not sure up in the Gradebook until they are published**

Where is the Gradebook?

You can view the gradebook by clicking on the Grades link in the Global Navigation or the Grades navigation link within a course. More information about how to grade assignments and use the gradebook can be found in Module 9:Grading in Canvas.

Extra Features

When using the grade book, instructors can also:

• Curve grades
• Set default grade for an assignment
  
• Message students who haven’t submitted an assignment yet
• Message students who scored more than X or less than Y on an assignment
• Block students from viewing their grades until they are published
• Export and import grade book scores in .csv format
