Academic Remote Desktop Services
Richland's Academic Remote Desktop Service provides students with access to a various software programs used by college courses. If you need to access the latest version of Microsoft Office, or a specific program required for your class, you're in the right place.
What do I need to connect?
You will need a Remote Desktop client:
- Windows users will have a program called Remote Desktop Connection under their Start...All Programs...Accessories group (or All Programs...Accessories for Windows 8).
- OS X users can download the free Remote Desktop Client for Mac from https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id715768417 Links to an external site..
- Linux users may have an RDP client available with their particular distro; any client that is capable of connecting to an RD server farm will work fine. Remmina Links to an external site. appears to be a viable option for most modern distros as well.

How do I connect from a Windows PC?
- Open the Remote Desktop Connection
- If the General, Display, etc. tabs are not visible, click on the Show Options button
- In the Computer field, enter rds.richland.edu
- In the User name field, enter your Richland NetID username (prefixed with RCC\)
- Click Connect
- When prompted, enter your Richland password.
- Agree to any warning boxes that may appear.
