Saving Your Documents the Correct Way!

It is very important that your instructor is able to open and grade your assignments! You need to be sure to save your documents in a format your instructor will be able to open with Microsoft Office programs:

  • If you are using Microsoft Office programs, there should be no problem with your instructor being able to open your files.
  • However, if you are using programs that are not Microsoft Office (Microsoft Works, WordPerfect, OpenOffice, etc.), you need to save your files in a format your instructor can open.
  • If you are not sure what format to save in, it is best to always save in "Rich Text Format" (.rtf), which can be opened with many different programs.

How To Save in RTF Format

Directions are provided in video, downloadable document, and text with screenshots formats. You may choose the style that works best for you.
